A Brief Emerging Thought

Matt Chandler, pastor of the Village Church in Dallas recently responded to the following question during an inerview.

What one piece of advice would you give to emerging pastors?

Let your wife worry about your clothes. Buy books and study. We don't need any more well-dressed, hip, funny, heretics. Who cares how you say it if what you're saying is wrong?

Prosperity Crap!

I am sure the blog title will grab some people's attention. In light of things that we have witnessed recently, particularly on the African Continent, I thought it would be appropriate to include this John Piper video clip dealing with the so called "prosperity gospel."

I will be sharing more information in the coming days but I wanted to go ahead and post some pics of our Africa Mission Trip. God blessed in so many awesome ways. He gets all the glory. We are merely vessels. Here is a brief summary: We saw over 2,000 people come to faith in Christ and over 3,000 teens make commitments to True Love Waits. The building of a primary school has begun in Leer, Sudan and many Kenyans in the Rift Valley will now have access to clean drinking water as a result of the well project. There are many stories of the awesome power of God. I will be sharing some of those in future posts. Check out my Africa Blog for more pics. I also want to share word of appreciation to all of you who have prayed and supported the trip. This is a great example of how we are all on mission.
