I love to read and hear from missionaries. Below are my Top Ten quotes from persons directly engaged in missions. They are men and women who are on the front lines of ministry. By the way, God has called each of us to be missionaries where we live.
10. "What's your dream and to what corner of the missions world will it take you?" -- Eleanor Roat, missions mobilizer
9. "Let my heart be broken with the things that break God's heart" -- Bob Pierce, World Vision founder
8. "We can reach our world, if we will. The greatest lack today is not people or funds. The greatest need is prayer." -- Wesley Duewel, head of OMS International
7. Some wish to live within the sound of a chapel bell; I wish to run a rescue mission within a yard of hell.” -- C.T. Studd
6. "God isn't looking for people of great faith, but for individuals ready to follow Him" -- Hudson Taylor
5. "This generation of Christians is responsible for this generation of souls on the earth!" -- Keith Green
4. "God is a God of missions. He wills missions. He commands missions. He demands missions. He made missions possible through His Son. He made missions actual in sending the Holy Spirit." -- George W. Peters
3. "Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God" -- William Carey
2. "Missions is the overflow of our delight in God because missions is the overflow of God's delight in being God." --John Piper
1. "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose" -- Jim Elliott

Honoring Dr. King
We live in a world where racial injustice is still a problem. We live where a world where many citizens do not value ALL human life. We live in a world where children are still exploited and taken advantage of. I thought it would be appopriate today to share some quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King.1. He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. -- "Stride Toward Freedom," 1958.
2. The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. -- "Strength to Love," 1963.
3. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. -- "Letter from Birmingham Jail," April 16, 1963.
4. Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor. -- "Letter from Birmingham Jail," April 16, 1963.
5. The means by which we live have outdistanced the ends for which we live. Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men. -- "Strength to Love," 1963.
6. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. -- "I Have a Dream," civil rights march on Washington, D.C., August 28, 1963. (Source: The New York Times)
7. Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon. It is a weapon unique in history, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals. -- "Why We Can't Wait," 1964.

Kenya Update
"My child cries a lot at night, and I have no milk to give her," laments Margaret. She and her daughter fled their home in Nairobi after receiving death threats.
We continue to pray for our friends in Kenya. We have been in contact with several of the pastors. Everyone is safe at this point although the situation is still very volatile. The reports that we are receiving in the U.S. are that around 500 people have been killed. Pastor John from Kenya sent an e-mail message this week that stated nearly 1,300 Kenyans have lost their lives.
Pray that believers regardless of tribal affiliation or geographical location will stand strong for the Lord. Kenyan Christians who are passionate about living for Christ will make a major contribution toward peace. Obviously crises of this nature have a severe impact on children. Please pray for their safety. Below is some information directly from the World Vision Website.
The unrest continues to hamper relief efforts across much of the country. World Vision has called for an immediate stop to the violence that has killed more than 500 people, and has left over 250,000 people displaced from their homes. Violence has caused a severe shortage of fuel and forced shops to remain closed. The security situation has limited the movements of our relief staff who are working to meet the needs of people trying to escape the violence. "We are distributing food, water, mosquito nets, blankets, and shelter materials to more than 150,000 people living in police stations, schools and churches, and others marooned in houses," said Nick Wasunna, World Vision's relief expert in Nairobi. "We are doing our utmost to reach people, but the safety of communities and our staff on the ground is paramount.."

Latest Report From Kenya

A Kenyan on Tuesday stands beside the ruins of the Assemblies of God Church in Eldoret, where a Red Cross official estimated some 50 people were killed.
Continue to pray for the situation in Kenya. I was able to speak with one of our close pastor friends (John Kisia) in Kenya this morning who said the situation has not improved. He stated they are safe but it is dangerous to leave your home. One of the other pastors we work closely with (David Gitau) and his wife have had to flee to Uganda.
Pray! Pray! Pray! -craig
