Well, the long awaited day has arrived. We traveled to Albuquerque today and will be flying out at 6:00 AM on our trip to Kenya. A big thanks to the FBC Bloomfield family for all of your support. We will try to keep the blog updated while we are in Africa but do not know how often that will be possible. Please keep us in your prayers.

Good News
Great Christmas Concert at FBC Bloomfield last night. The "Good News" was strongly proclaimed. Thank you Lew and choir leaders for an outstanding job. We are looking forward to a joyous Christmas Eve Candlelight service.
Also, on the "Good News" front, our proclaimers arrived today (3 in Swahili and 3 in Maasai). These were given by "Faith Comes By Hearing." This gives us the opportunity to travel to rural villages and proclaim the spoken "Word" in the native tongue.

Called to Be Holy
"Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, You shall be holy as I am holy."

Africa Day
Tuesday is Africa Day on the Blog. I am very excited to share these pictures with you. They were sent today from Kenya by my son-in-law Trey Fuller. He is currently in Kenya on a vision trip for Mayatima International Ministries.
The well project that we conducted last year is functioning and hundreds of people are now receiving clean water. Praise The Lord.

Great Job!
The worship and drama teams at FBC Bloomfield did a great job this past weekend as they presented our annual Christmas Pageant. A significant amount of time was spent preparing and is greatly appreciated.
Do not miss our Christmas Concert coming up this Sunday evening at 6:15 AM. You will be greatly blessed as all age groups make special presentations.

House Progress
Next you we will share some new pics of the house. Things are moving along quite well. The shingles are on and the exterior walls have been prepared for stucco. The subs are nearing completion and the insulation is in. We can't wait to start doing some interior work.

Getting Healthy
The "ring thing" I spoke about in an earlier Thursday blog is about getting healthy. Just in case of an emergency I do not want to get my wedding ring cut off (which as you can see below is the current state of things). I will keep you posted on how things are going.

29 Days
In 29 days we will be departing for the continent of Africa. A total of 22 of us will be on mission in Kenya. In previous blogs I have shared a number of things that we will be doing. I want to take this opportunity to share briefly about "Faith Comes By Hearing." Below is a brief description from their website.

Faith Comes by Hearing
Mission - Our mission statement is to record and use heart-language Audio Bibles to bring His church together and make disciples from every nation, tribe, language, and people. God's Word is for every tribe, people, and tongue.
Faith Comes By Hearing is committed to reaching the nations with the Word of God in Audio, offering the Bible in a format that will connect with the world's 50% illiterate population. To accomplish this enormous task, the Lord has assembled a group of committed leaders and dedicated servants of His Word to develop into a reality the vision of bringing His church together and making disciples.
The word "nation" is the Greek word ethnos, which means "of the same language and people group," not the political borders of a country. The worldwide Bible translation and distribution ministries have determined there are 6,809 ethnos, or nations, in the world, most of which cross many political borders.
Faith Comes By Hearing is providing 6 Proclaimers for us to bring to Africa. The Proclaimer is an audion Bible that can be used withoout electricity or batteries. The beauty is that we will be able to share the Word of God in Kiswahili as well as the Massai languge.

The Proclaimer
